An alternative to the classic look.

The cognitive approach to creativity is an eclectic approach that presents an alternative to the old behaviorism-constructivism opposition.

It was developed in Harvard by Doctor Daniel Ricart and its objective is to implement the most spectacular advances of the last years in education.

Neurosciences, emotional intelligence/socio-emotional capabilities development, thinking routines, reranking of cognition execution functions, creativity, multidisciplinary learning, social awareness, case method, digitization and many other inputs are adopted in order to optimize and improve the efficacy of quality education.

It is necessary to clarify that the goal of the cognitive approach to creativity is constant formation and updates, therefore once it starts, it never ends. It is a continuous work involving a proactive stance by all adherents to this theory.

The cognitive approach to creativity is based on the ability to turn on theories and cognitive mechanisms producing the development of intelligence based on the students’ learning styles, considering multiple intelligences as entrance doors to each and every student, creating experiences to promote learning to think.

Thus, this stance towards learning implies a proactive role by the student and a teacher that guides and accompanies the teaching-learning process in a socio-emotional environment ensuring knowledge and emotional self-regulation at the same time.

Our objective is that all our students develop their maximum potential and discover their talents during their school career path, according to the development of their emotional intelligence, acquiring critical thinking, promoting intrinsic motivation to tackle the issues they are faced with, that is by applying intelligence within a framework of moral and ethical responsibility.
